• Unhelpful and cold message conveying lack of internet connection in the app.
• No bandwidth from product design to change the look and feel.
• Researched industry standards and best practice for error messages specific to internet outages.
• Since we couldn’t improve design, we focused on quick copy changes.
• Developed new phrase to sound helpful and human.
• Provided users with guidance on what to do and how to potentially resolve the issue.
